A few weeks back we had the brilliant idea…that is me Bahia… to have our customers share their interpretation of the annual festival we have here in Washington DC called the Cherry Blossom Festival…we were excited that our friends at Bell Flowers in Silver Spring were able to bring over live Cherry Blossoms to help us make the whole thing come together…we had 3 submissions…2 were brought in…we did one and another one was sent via facebook pic… enjoy the shots….
Antoinette ( mixed with Pure White) with Duck Egg Blue underneath …a little decoupage using Annie Sloan’s decoupage of course and some beautiful paper by Paper Source..
A close up of the detail. People often wonder if they should paint the handles…I always do and then distress which brings it out…check that out
The beautiful Cherry Blossoms by Bell Flowers…helping us to set the mood…
This beautiful piece was done by our customer Debi who is a awesome painter…and I mean awesome….she used Antoinette and Old White with a Royal design studio’s stencil…very very romantic piece…
This piece was done by Kensington’s own Juliana Clark…she and her family fun a food stand at the Kensington Farmers Market on Saturdays. She used Scandinavian Pink and Antoinette to complete this piece.
More shots….
I love this one close up
And ending with Juliana’s piece close up. All participants received the latest copy of Where Women Create as a thank you for being such good sports.
Look out for more challenges and maybe you might participate in them next time around…. hope you enjoy and maybe we will see you in the shop…
