- How did I find out about On the Purple Couch, A Place to Create? I initially connected with Bahia thru Facebook, she saw my work and we eventually met.
- How long have you been teaching your course work? This will be one of the first classes in wire work I will be teaching and I’m excited to share my information and pass on some usable skills to the class.
- What do you like most about creating? The personal extension of myself and the piece of myself that I leave with each piece I create and how that affects the people that own a piece of that work.
- Where do you create? I create in my basement studio. It’s a relatively small cozy space with wall to wall supplies, books and a 6 foot table.
- Can you share a favorite quote? Right now my favorite quote comes from one of my muses and fashion icon, Iris Apfel – “I Think Rules are the Ruination of the Art World”
- What will a student learn in my class? The students will learn about the different gauges of wire, which ones best work for what purpose, how to weave and wrap wire and create a piece of jewelry.
- Are you taking a class yourself? Not now. The next class I take will be a metalsmithing one. The one after that will be glass blowing.
- What does creating do for me? Creating for me is living my “truth”…..simply.
